Barry’s Bootcamp

Barry’s Bootcamp has two locations: Midtown and Miami Beach, the latter of which has been around since 2014. The hour-long classes consist of a combination of HIIT (high-intensity interval training) exercises in a group setting, and many of the instructors have a loyal following. The workouts consist of using free weights, treadmill running, and bodyweight exercises. During the high-energy classes, the lights go down and the music is pumped up in the famous “Red Room”, a workout studio with tinted red lighting that adds atmosphere. Prices start at $32 per class and monthly membership starts at $215 for eight classes. 

Gymage

Located inside the Art Deco-designed Bhojwani Tower on Lincoln Road, Gymage calls itself a “Lifestyle Resort Fitness Club.” While Gymage doesn’t specialize in fitness classes, it does offer the latest high-tech equipment in a beautiful setting. Think cardio machines have charging stations and apps built-in so you can stream Spotify and Netflix. Not to mention, plate machines that count the reps for you. Don’t be surprised if you spot your favorite fitness influencer here as the sexy setting attracts all kinds of content creators and gym selfie enthusiasts. Anatomy

With three locations scattered around Miami (Midtown, Miami Beach, and Coconut Grove), Anatomy is one of Miami's most popular gyms. Members get access to unlimited group fitness classes in a glammed-up warehouse studio, but if group classes are not your thing, the gym also has one-on-one sessions with personal trainers. Other gym amenities include an infrared sauna, eucalyptus steam room, and hot and cold plunge pools. Annual memberships start at $225/month and month-to-month options start at $272/month.

Rise Nation

Workouts at Rise Nation, located in the Design District, are a little different than your average gym because all classes require the use of a zero impact, full-body climbing machine called a Versaclimber. Workouts take place in a darkened room where the lights coordinate with thumping, hip-hop music and there’s a variety of class packages to choose from. New members can purchase three classes for $30, and monthly memberships start at $59/month for four classes. 

Elev8tion

You’ll never get bored working out at Elev8tion. The gym has the latest workout equipment and free weight area along with group HIIT classes, boxing, and cycling. There are three Miami locations (South Beach, Downtown, and Miami shores) and the gym also has a partnership with Miami Fitbox to deliver fresh meals to your home or even to the facility. There are a few types of memberships available, and the $180/month option includes unlimited classes at all three gym locations. 

CrossFit 305 

CrossFit gyms are known for their group training classes that include strength and cardio workouts that change daily, and CrossFit 305 has two locations: Miami’s Upper Eastside and Miami Beach. If you want to skip the big group workouts, you can work out one-on-one with a trainer or in small groups of up to eight. The gym also offers a personalized nutrition program that comes with an online accountability group. Membership includes access to both locations and prices are available upon request.

Fitbox Method 

Classes at Fitbox method consist of HIIT, boot camp style exercises, circuit training, and boxing cardio. There are two locations in Brickell and Edgewater, and the boutique gyms have a variety of workout equipment like free weights, hanging punching bags, and stationary bikes. Sweat it out in small, action-packed group classes. Class variety is constantly changing, which is great for avoiding the workout plateau if you get easily bored. At the Brickell location, prices start at $25/class and $199/month for unlimited classes. Edgewater fees are $15/class and the unlimited membership is $179/month.

Miami Beach Bootcamp 

Take advantage of the beautiful Miami weather by working out outdoors with Miami Beach Bootcamp. Classes take place right on the beach (at the Collins and 21st and 64th street entrances) seven days a week between 7 and 7:30 a.m. Participants are asked to bring their own yoga mat and towel, and classes include bodyweight exercises and boot camp circuits. The workouts are donation-based, but memberships are available. The $149/month option gets you access to all the beach workouts, body scans, and an online nutrition support group.  

Glutehouse

While some gyms focus on whole-body fitness, Glutehouse emphasizes only lower body exercises, and workouts consist of five stations for a 50-60 minute workout. While there is a coach on hand, workouts are done by following the Glutehouse Training App. There are two workouts posted per week posted: Workout A is done Monday through Wednesday and Workout B is done Thursday through Sunday. Glutehouse is ideal for those who want a supplemental workout dedicated to strengthening their lower body. Memberships range from $99/month to $169/month depending on your monthly or yearly commitment and the days you want to workout. 

Equinox 

Equinox gyms offer a full-service health club in an upscale setting, and there are five locations in and around Miami (Brickell, Brickell Heights, Aventura, South Beach, and Coral Gables). Per week, you can choose from over 100 different classes which include boxing, martial arts, pilates, cycling. If you’re tired just reading all that, Equinox also offers spa services like massages and facials. Membership includes unlimited classes and access to workouts on the Equinox+ app. If you’re only spending a few months in Miami, bear in mind that memberships require a 12-month commitment and start at $186/month for a single location or $215/month for access to all five Miami locations.
